GOLD & SILVER ADIT
KREMNICA, SLOVAKIA
The gold in the Kremnica region was discovered by human being before Karol Róbert in 1328 awarded to settlement Cremnychbana mining and minting privileges. Gold was obtained by ripening the gold in the stream, later by mining on the surface and then underground. Cutting adits, deepening shafts, digging trenches, and dumping waste resulted in a change in landscape relief.
In 2013, a project was prepared for the renewal of the mining operation at Au and Ag ore deposit Kremnica Šturec. After the reconstruction of the adit, in 2014 the first ton was mined after 44 years. The classic mining machinery was used for mining. No blasting work but pneumatic hammers were used for mining. At the moment, the mining operation is interrupted and a new mining plan is being prepared.
